GBAAZK Supports: 2011 Conservation Our Chapter held a dog washing fundraiser event and dontated a portion of the proceeds to Baltimore Animal Rescue Center (BARCS) . We raised $150 to support animal care at the shelter. The event was a lot of fun and we enjoyed giving back to our local community. 
Polar Bears International "Trees for You and Me" Fundraiser
Online campaign from January through March, 2011 $85 The Greater Baltimore Chapter participated in the AAZK initiative to raise money for seedlings to help Polar Bears International plant trees and reduce atmospheric C02. Total, we raised $85, which is the equivalent of over 250 trees. Combined, all the participating AAZK chapters raised enough money to support planting 42,000 trees in the Polar Bears Forest Project. We look forward to participating next year.  Hosted by Acme Bar and Grill, our most recent fundraiser raised $532 for Orangutan Foundation International (OFI). OFI aims to educate, protect, and raise awareness for the endangered Great Red Apes and their diminishing habitat. The Indonesian-based organization serves as a sanctuary to orphaned orangutans. The donated money will be specifically used for enrichment items and PVC toys for the orangutans. Thank you to all who came out to support the cause!  GBAAZK Supports: 2010 Conservation GBAAZK and The Federal House Bar and Grill hosted a fundraiser to benefit relief efforts from the Gulf Oil Spill. The event was a great success and all benefits from the event were directed to TriState Bird Rescue and Research, who are at the forefront of oil spill recovery and clean-up efforts. We were able to contribute a donation of $605 thanks to everyone who came out to participate, and to The Federal House Bar and Grill for their support!  We presented a $200 donation to the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust. We are proud to support and recognize one of the longest running conservation initiatives in Africa.  GBAAZK and The Federal House Bar and Grill hosted a fundraiser to benefit Chimp Haven, a non-profit organization that cares for orphaned or rescued chimpanzees. The sanctuary was founded in 1995 in Louisiana and we recognize their committment to providing these complex animals with a high quality of life.  | |||||
