AAZK is a national nonprofit (U.S. 501c3) organization comprised of zoo keepers and other
interested persons. Through efforts such as fundraising and public education, the Greater
Baltimore chapter of AAZK works to advance animal care, foster professional development, and
contribute to conservation efforts worldwide. GBAAZK is a group affiliated with The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. Founded in 1876, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is the third oldest zoo in the United States and is internationally known for its conservation and research contributions. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) , assuring excellent care for animals, a great experience for visitors, and a better future for all living things. We are very proud to help uphold the zoo's mission to inspire and educate people, lending support toward the conservation of wild life and wild places. The Zoo is committed to serving its communities by engaging people with the wonder of the living world through personal encounters that foster lifelong harmonious relationships with nature.

2011 in Review: We had an AMAZING year! Together, we raised a total of $7,368.71, from all our events and fundraisers. $4,170 of this total went directly to conservation programs and other nonprofits.
